- We never sell your personal information.
- We only text you if you have agreed to it, and you can opt out at any time.
- We never share your mobile number or SMS consent with anyone for their marketing.
- This website uses no tracking or advertising cookies.
This Privacy Policy explains how TensorTen (“TensorTen”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you visit tensorten.com, contact us, receive text messages (SMS) or emails from us, or use our services. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
1. Who we are
TensorTen is a software consultancy based in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. We advise businesses on technology, and we design, build and run web platforms, online stores and AI-assisted tools. We also develop software products, such as TranSof.
We are responsible for the personal information we hold. Our Privacy Officer can be reached at transofinc@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details — your name, email address, phone number (including your mobile number) and company name.
- Project and business information — what you tell us about your business or project when you contact us or work with us.
- Communication records — messages you send us, and your communication preferences, including whether and when you agreed to receive text messages or emails from us.
- Client records — if you become a client, the business and billing details we need to deliver our services and invoice you.
Information collected automatically
When you visit this website, our web server records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, and the date and time of your visit. We use it only to keep the website secure and working properly.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers or any third-party tracking. Its fonts and files are served from our own server. The only cookie we ever set is a short-lived session cookie, and only if the contact form cannot be sent, so we can show you what you typed. If any of that changes, we will update this policy first.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiries and prepare proposals and quotes;
- deliver, support and improve our services and the software we build;
- send service messages by email or SMS, such as project and appointment updates, verification codes, and account or security notices;
- send news and offers, but only where you have given us consent to do so;
- invoice clients, keep business records and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations; and
- protect our website, services and users against fraud, abuse and security threats.
We will not use your personal information for a new purpose without first asking for your consent, unless the law requires or permits it.
4. Text messages (SMS)
We may send you text messages (SMS) when you have given us consent. This section explains how that works.
- Consent. We only text mobile numbers whose owners have agreed to receive messages from us — for example by ticking the SMS box on our contact form, agreeing in writing, or asking us to text them. The box is never ticked for you. We keep a record of each consent: the wording you agreed to, the date and time, and the IP address it came from.
- What we send. Service messages such as project and appointment updates, verification codes, account notifications and replies to your enquiries. We send promotional messages only if you have separately agreed to receive them.
- Who it is from. Messages are identified as TensorTen, or as the product they relate to (such as TranSof).
- Frequency. Message frequency varies depending on your interactions with us.
- Cost. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. We do not charge for text messages.
- Opting out. You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP (where replies are supported), by following the opt-out instructions in a message, or by contacting us at transofinc@gmail.com. We act on opt-out requests promptly, and always within 10 business days. You may receive one final message confirming your opt-out.
- Help. Reply HELP to any message, or contact us at transofinc@gmail.com.
We do not sell, rent or share mobile numbers with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
5. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only in these cases:
- Service providers that help us run our business — such as website hosting, email, SMS and email delivery (Brevo), cloud storage and accounting. They may use personal information only to provide their services to us, and must protect it.
- Legal reasons — when required by law, a court order or a lawful request from authorities, or to protect the rights, property or safety of TensorTen, our clients or others.
- Business transfers — if TensorTen is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, and will remain protected by this policy.
All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won’t be shared with any third parties.
6. Where information is stored
We are based in Canada, but some of our service providers store or process information in other countries. For example, Brevo, which delivers our SMS messages and emails, is based in the European Union. Information stored outside Canada is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts and authorities.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as long as the law requires — for example, to meet tax and accounting rules. Records of your consent to receive messages, and of any opt-out, are kept as long as needed to show that we respected your choices. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
8. How we protect it
We protect personal information with reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access limited to people who need it, and reputable service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada where the law requires it.
9. Your rights and choices
You have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits — including opting out of text messages (reply STOP) and unsubscribing from emails (use the link in the email); and
- make a complaint about how we handle your information.
To make a request, email transofinc@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (opens in a new tab).
10. Children
Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Other websites
Our website may link to other websites, including the websites of products we build. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle personal information.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the “last updated” date above. If a change materially affects how we use your personal information, we will let you know before it takes effect.
